 Mike Donahue

Coach Mike is a life-long athlete and fitness enthusiast with an extremely diverse background in wrestling, football, track, baseball, basketball, and triathlon. He has had the privilege of working with a number of gifted athletes and prides himself on building a strong rapport with them.  Coach Mike's success can be measured by the accomplishments of the athletes he has trained; NCAA D-1 scholarships (5 in the past 3 years), a Schuman National Underclassman Combine MVP, an NJSIAA High School State Champion, a Freestyle State Champion, a Tulsa National Champion, an Elementary School National Champion, NJSIAA Wrestling Regional Champions, Summer Cup Wrestling Series Winner, a Summer Cup Wrestling Series Iron Man Award Winner, 2 USA Wrestling Youth State Champions, 2 SJWA Youth Wrestling State Champions (including a 2x winner), an NJ.com Defensive All-Star (football), The Daily Journal Softball Player of the Year, The Press of Atlantic City Softball Player of the Year, an NJ.com All-Soph Lacrosse Player, All- South Jersey Group 2 Softball, an Adam Taliaferro Football Classic All-Star, several All-Conference, All-Group, and All-County High School Athletes in football, softball, and wrestling, numerous Varsity high school players(football, baseball, basketball, softball, lacrosse, and wrestling), and several of the areas best youth athletes in baseball, football, soccer, basketball,field hockey, and lacrosse.

 Julie Donahue


As a youth athlete, Julie played soccer for the Cohanzick Soccer Club before attending Bridgeton High School.  There she excelled in soccer and cheerleading and earned numerous varsity letters and awards.  She then continued her education at Rowan University where she earned a BA in Elementary Education and a BA in Spanish.  When she is not training at Going Vertical, Julie can be found teaching in a third grade classroom.  Julie has also volunteered her time as an area youth Soccer Coach and Cheerleading Coach.

Ken Sweatt

Coach Ken has spent his life believing in the value of physical fitness.  Ken played football from the age of 7 until high school.  At Overbrook Regional High School, he was a member of the wrestling, track, and golf teams.  During his junior year, Ken enlisted in the US Army Reserves.  He graduated basic training at Fort Benning, GA in the summer before the start of his senior year.  Ken served the next six years as a Mechanized Infantry Soldier leaving with a proudly earned honorable discharge.

Ken went on to become aprofessional high window cleaner.  He spent several years instructing and directing others before owning and running his own window cleaning business.  In 1994, Ken took a position with a prominent Atlantic City Hotel Casino where he remained until 2009.  Ken is ACE Certified Personal Trainer and is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise Science from Camden County College.

 Marcus Thompson 

Coach Marcus is a former Football and Baseball player. He is a graduate of the Health Promotion and Fitness Management Program at Rowan University.  As a freshman at Rowan, he putsued Strength and Conditioning in the Athletics setting and has movedto Fitness in the University Recreation setting.  Coach Marcus has worked with athletes at Villnova University and in the sports performance facility setting at various locations.  He has also worked at Rowna University's Recreation Center as a Personal Trainer for 3 years. He is a product of hard work and what a dream can do.
